Inspire Youth Zone, Chorley’s biggest youth facility which will support thousands of young people from the local area to lead healthier, happier and more aspirational lives, is calling for support from the community to help win funding as part of the Aviva Community Fund.

Inspire is relying on votes from the public to increase our chances of winning funding of up to £25,000 which will help us to deliver ‘Head Start’ – a project dedicated to engaging with the area’s most disadvantaged and vulnerable young people before the Youth Zone opens in April 2018.

With an expected 3,000 registered members in its first year of opening, the funding will also support Inspire to establish positive relationships with young people, offer support and mentoring to those who need it and improve the social, physical and mental wellbeing of thousands of young people from across Chorley and the surrounding areas.

Inspire Youth Zone, located on Chapel Street, will be open to young people aged 8-19 and up to 25 for those with additional needs, 7 days per week for just 50p per visit. Alongside a vast array of engaging activities such as climbing, dance, drama, art, a wide range of sports, music and more, the Youth Zone team will provide a listening ear, supporting young people to broaden their horizons through employability, mentoring and workshops focused on issues affecting young people.

Danielle Carruthers, General Manager & Commercial Account Executive at Berry Insurance Brokers said “As soon as Berry Insurance Brokers heard about this fantastic charity we felt inspired to get involved, which is why we pledged our support through the Aviva Community Fund competition.

“We are delighted the application was shortlisted but we really need the community to get behind this worthwhile cause and vote online in order to give Chorley’s young people the chance to benefit from this pioneering project.”

Janine Blythe, Chief Executive at Inspire Youth Zone comments “Supporting young people from all backgrounds is at the heart of what Inspire Youth Zone hopes to achieve.

“If you are passionate about creating opportunities for young people to increase their confidence and raise their aspirations then please vote for Chorley Youth Zone.”
