Just one month after Chorley’s Inspire Youth Zone opened, a team of 56 dedicated volunteers have clocked up 612 hours of charity work at Inspire, directly benefiting the town’s young people.

Since Inspire’s opening on Saturday 5th May, a team of trained volunteers have supported Youth Zone staff to deliver quality activities to thousands of young people, resulting in a fantastic launch month and brilliant feedback from young people, parents and the community.

Located on Chapel Street, Inspire Youth Zone offers young people over 20 activities per night, 7 days per week. Activities are run by qualified youth workers and supported by dedicated volunteers whose aim is to ensure all young people have an amazing time whilst at Inspire.

Michelle Graham, Volunteer & Training Manager said “I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the volunteers at Inspire who give up their time to benefit Chorley’s young people. As a charity, we rely on volunteers to help deliver a diverse range of activities for hundreds of young people. If you’re interested in delivering fun activities and would like to inspire young people to achieve their full potential, then please get in touch. Volunteering at Inspire not only enriches the lives of young people – but could enrich your life too”.

Mark Chamberlain, Music & Media Volunteer said: “I volunteer at Inspire Youth Zone because I like to give back to my community. I volunteer twice per week and I really enjoy it. I like that Inspire Youth Zone provides opportunities that were not previously available to young people in Chorley. I wish there had been a charity like this when I was growing up.”

There is a wide range of volunteering roles and various times available at Inspire Youth Zone, no experience is necessary as full training will be provided.
