Tee-rific Fundraising at our Annual Golf Day!

Fore-get the boring Fridays, last week we teed up an unforgettable Golf Day, sponsored by ESG, at the stunning Shaw Hill Golf Resort, and it was driving success from start to finish!

With 23 teams turning out in full force, the day was packed with fairway fun, big swings, and even bigger generosity – raising a whopping £22,350 for Inspire Youth Zone and our life-changing work with young people.

The day kicked off in true Lancashire style with breakfast barms and a hot brew, courtesy of Rowland Homes, which got everyone warmed up before the shotgun start. We also offered players the chance to buy mulligans – a charitable way to “forget” those not-so-sweet shots!

With the teams fired up, it was game on. While the course was challenging and the competition fierce, we made sure spirits

stayed high and drinks stayed cold with beers and refreshments flowing all day long. Thanks to the team at Sutcliffe’s Opticians, players also had the chance to win lots of prizes and freebies over at the 10th whilst they took on the Longest Drive.

Not only that but over on the 16th we had ABS Commercial tee’ing off Nearest the Pin. We have to give a special nod here, because the sales technique of further golf balls (which of course helped us raise more money!) was impeccable – they were responsible for raising an addition £750 on the day!

Once the final putt dropped, teams headed back inside for a well-earned BBQ feast, an exciting auction, and the all-important raffle draw. With donations flying in from our amazing supporters, the prizes were as hot as the grill.

The day was nothing short of a hole-in-one. Thank you to every player and sponsor who made the day such a success. We can’t wait to do it all again next year so start polishing your putters and saving those strokes… the countdown is on!

While everyone is a winner in our eyes (especially the young people we support), the leaderboard looked like this:

  • 1st Place: Sutcliffe’s Opticians – those specs clearly helped them read the greens!
  • 2nd Place: Butterworth Spengler – swinging in just behind.
  • Nearest the Pin: Tom Morley from NIS – laser-focused precision!
  • Longest Drive: Stephen Murphy from ESG – sending pure energy down the fairway.

Thanks also to our tee-rific sponsors, we couldn’t have raised anything like £22,350 without some amazing backers:
