One Stop Hire Ltd, the fastest growing hirer of Power Tools, Access Systems & Small Plant in the North of England, is supporting Chorley Youth Zone.

The firm has signed up as a Founder Patron with gift of £75,000 over three years and Managing Director, Steve Hitchen, has also agreed to become a Youth Zone board member.

One Stop Hire Ltd acquired the SJS Hire Tools & PSL Hire businesses in 2009 and have the very best equipment available on the market which is backed up with a modern fleet of delivery & service vehicles to ensure a rapid response & reliability for their clients.

One Stop Hire Ltd, Managing Director, Steve Hitchen [pictured], who is also an ambassador for the Enterprise groups at another OnSide Youth Zone in Wigan, said: “Having been a board member at Wigan Youth Zone for some time now, I know what benefit this facility will have on the young people of Chorley. It is clear Chorley needs a world class facility like this one and I see it as fantastic opportunity to give something back to Chorley’s community.”

Chorley Youth Zone Chief Executive Janine Blythe commented: “I am thrilled Steve has taken up my offer of becoming a board member for Chorley Youth Zone. On top of that, One Stop Hire’s incredible endorsement will make a huge difference to the project and the lives of thousands of young people and we hope even more support will soon follow.”

The Youth Zone is fast becoming a reality with building work now underway. The Chorley Group were the first Founder Patron to come on board and they were swiftly joined by Carrington Workwear and with further potential supporters in the pipeline.

The Youth Zone is being back by Chorley Council and Lancashire County Council, whilst The Queen’s Trust have recently donated £500k, totalling £1m. Wigan Youth Zone’s Chairman Martin Ainscough has also donated £1m of capital funding support to the town’s young people.

The new Youth Zone is to be built in the centre of Chorley on Railway Street, where The Arts Partnership and Leigh Arms once stood. It will be a place where young people can reach

their full potential, grow their dreams and achieve their goals. It will be a safe and supportive community for young people to belong and be themselves.

Expected to open in spring 2018, the Youth Zone will offer a wide range of activities for young people aged between eight and 19, up to 25 for those with a disability, including; dance, sport, music, media, employability and mentoring programmes. Inspire will cost young people just 50p per visit.

Becoming a Founder Patron of Inspire Youth Zone is a chance for the local businesses and philanthropists to create a legacy for the future of Chorley. Their support and endorsement of the project will serve to encourage others to invest in the future of the town’s young people.
