Enthusiasm and excitement for Inspire grow as new faces join the senior management team at Chorley Youth Zone.

Chief Executive, Janine Blythe was delighted to welcome new members to the Inspire Youth Zone team after appointing the following positions; Youth Work Manager, Fundraising Development Manager, Volunteer & Training Manager and Office & Administration Manager.

No stranger to developing an engaging and diverse programme of activities for young people is Youth Work Manager, Ryan Powell, who joins Inspire from Wigan Youth Zone. When asked about his move to Chorley he said: “I have seen first-hand the difference that Youth Zones make to the lives of young people. We are busy putting plans in place to ensure we open with a first-class offer which includes working in partnership with local organisations and schools.”

Inspiring the community to volunteer at Chorley Youth Zone is Volunteer and Training Manager, Michelle Graham. When asked about her passion for volunteering she said: “Engaging with the community in support of such a worthwhile cause is my dream job. Asking people to give up their time to volunteer can seem daunting but the difference they could make to their community is life-changing for both young people and themselves.”

Also joining the Senior Management Team and playing a fundamental role in the Youth Zone’s success is Sara Eltman, Fundraising Development Manager, who will take a lead on raising the Youth Zone’s annual running costs and Melanie Rothwell, Office and Administration Manager, who is looking forward to ensuring the team is supported to deliver a fantastic offer for young people!

On track to open in April 2018, building works at Inspire are progressing well. Located on Chapel Street in the heart of Chorley, the Youth Zone will be open to young people aged 8-19, and up to 25 for those with a disability, 7 days per week. For just 50p per visit, Youth Zone members will access to over 20 activities each night, including a wide range of sports, arts and crafts, drama, gym, dance and much more.

The dedicated and caring team of staff and volunteers will develop positive relationships with young people, provide support and mentoring to those who need it and deliver workshops on employability and issues affecting young people.

The Youth Zone is being run in partnership with Chorley Council, Lancashire County Council, The Arts Partnership and OnSide Youth Zones. To find out more about volunteering opportunities please visit the vacancies page.
