A local fundraiser has now completed his target of 100 miles in April, helping support Inspire, Chorley Youth Zone whilst raising important funds.

Phil Ryder put his best foot forward and pledged to run throughout the month and said: “After deciding on the challenge, I went to visit Inspire and was blown away by the facilities and activities the members have access to. It was absolutely amazing and they really do have everything! I was also impressed with how they have managed to squeeze so much in whilst relying on local business support and fundraising activities throughout the year.”

He added: “You can see why the young people love it so much and on my visit, it certainly made me more determined than ever to raise much needed funds for this important part of our community. I do enjoy running anyway so thought it would be good to help a worthy cause at the same time. My legs are now a little sore, but on the days I was struggling, I just had to remind myself how much it will help Chorley’s next generation. I would encourage anyone to get involved and donate – no matter how big or small.”

Talking about the challenge, Business & Community Fundraiser at Inspire, Josh Vosper said: “Running 100 miles in a month is quite an achievement, especially as the weather starts to warm up. Phil has shown such amazing commitment and is a true inspiration to our children and young people. From all at Inspire, we’d like to thank him for all his efforts and hope this will encourage others to support our cause with other fundraising challenges.”

He added: “Anyone can fundraise and maybe your like Phil who enjoys running? Or maybe you love baking? Make a list of everything you want to do. From the weird to the wacky, we want your imagination to run wild. There’s so many ways to get involved and make a difference, now more than ever. To help your local community charity, drop us a line and we can help your challenge become real and don’t forget the most important part – have fun!”
