INSPIRE, Chorley Youth Zone will mark one year since their official opening in 2018 on Sunday 5th May with an open party for Chorley and all of its local young people, residents and members of the community.

Since opening, the Youth Zone has changed the lives of thousands of young people in Chorley and surrounding areas encouraging a healthy lifestyle and positive relationships while offering a safe space in which young people can spend their leisure time.

The membership over their first year has stretched to over 5400 members which means 1 in 3 young people in Chorley are now registered as members at the Youth Zone.

With such an incredible membership, the staff at Inspire have welcomed over 60,000 visits and offered a stunning 1.2m activities across 2018 and 2019.

Ryan Powell, Youth Work Manager of Inspire Youth Zone, said: “We’ve had an incredible first year and we’re humbled to have been welcomed into the Chorley community so quickly after opening.

“I have seen first hand the difference we’ve made to the lives of Chorley’s next generation and wholeheartedly believe that the young people who visit Inspire every evening are seeing the impact that this centre has on their lives.

“Our second year will be even better than the first as we establish stronger relationships with young people, our dedicated group of volunteers and our amazing patrons who make the work we do here possible.

“From the bottom of our heart, thank you to everyone who has supported us so far.”

To mark a monumentous first year Chorley Youth Zone is hosting a party on 5th May 2019 from 1-4pm, complete with a live samba band, performances from young people, food & drink, an awards ceremony and open tours of the £4m building.

The event is open to all who wish to attend including members, families and the extended community of Chorley residents.
