£63,134 Raised!

Our annual Green Tie Ball brought together businesses, partners and supporters from across the region for an unforgettable evening of celebration, generosity and impact – raising an incredible £63,134 for local young people.

Held at Shaw Hill, the event was our biggest fundraiser of the year. But beyond the music, the auction and the dancing, the night was about something far more important: the lives being shaped every day inside the Youth Zone.

Sixteen-year-old Riley shared how joining Inspire at the age of eight changed the direction of his life. What started as a nervous first visit turned into years of opportunity – from DofE and Youth Ambassador roles to DJing events and becoming a Young Leader. Inspire gave him confidence, skills and a platform to lead.

Former member Liv delivered one of the evening’s most powerful moments. She first came to Inspire as a teenager, finding a safe space during a difficult upbringing. Years later, she returned as a young mum seeking support through the toddler group – a place where she knew she wouldn’t be judged. Today, she works at Inspire as a Youth Worker, helping the next generation build their own confidence and skills.

Their stories were a reminder that Inspire is more than a building with impressive facilities. The climbing wall, Makers Zone and sports hall are tools. The real impact comes from trusted Youth Workers, consistent support and a space where every young person belongs.

The £60,000 raised will help cover the gap between what young people pay – just 50p per session, or free if needed – and the true cost of delivering high-quality youth work.

Janine Blythe, CEO of Inspire Youth Zone, said:

“What we witnessed on Friday night was generosity in action. The £60,000 raised is incredible and we are so grateful to every person who made it possible. The reality is it takes £1.6 million each year to keep Inspire running – to keep the doors open, the lights on and the youth workers in place. Every pound strengthens the support system around our young people – not just the activities they enjoy, but the trusted adults and safe space they rely on. Riley and Liv’s stories, Tommy and Amber’s performances – they are real journeys, real people and there are many more young people just like that.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and a special thank you to headline sponsors ESG and drink sponsor CG Professionals.”

We would also like to thank all those who donated prizes, performers and every business and individual who attended.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who continues to stand alongside local young people.
