Inspire Youth Zone opened it’s doors to the public and became a venue for Chorley Live 2018 for the first time this October.

Hundreds of young people and members of the public flocked to Inspire to see the incredible music and dance on offer, with over 800 people coming through the doors over the weekend.

With more than 20 acts performing at Inspire alone, Chorley Live was jam packed with action at the Youth Zone including an unexpected, special appearance from Blue Peter and CBBC star, Barney Harwood.

Barney performed alongside Maisie Leek who had been initially scheduled as a soloist but surprised the audience with a beautiful duet performance alongside Harwood who switched from piano to guitar seamlessly throughout.

“Our young people were so excited to see Barney in their space here at Inspire, especially after so many of them had performed so wonderfully themselves.” Youth Work Manager, Ryan Powell explained.

“The whole weekend was amazing and we’d like to thank the young people that worked so hard on their performances. All that work was worthwhile, because you were all sensational!”

The Inspire Youth Zone building was completely open on Friday, with Saturday seeing certain restrictions in place to maintain the Senior member’s session normally scheduled. Next year, Inspire hope to open the entire building to the public across the whole weekend.

If you’re not yet a member but would love to sign up, you can buy an annual membership today, available through this link here: https://www.inspireyouthzone.org/new-member/
