Chorley’s young people have been actively involved in a three week Radio Course hosted by Chorley FM.

The course has been hosted by Chief Volunteer Engagement Officer and radio presenter, Barbara Lowe and will see the young people come out with an AQA qualification in Radio Studies.

The group made up of 35 young people from Hollinshead Scouts Group learnt skills such as interviewing techniques and a general introduction to radio. They even interviewed Let it Shine contestant, Kieren O Brian!

You can hear the young people’s interviews in the link below.

Now that demolition of the Leigh Arms pub is complete, work is starting on the foundations followed by erection of the steel frame of the Youth Zone. The Youth Zone is scheduled to open in spring 2018.

Becoming a Founder Patron of Inspire Youth Zone is a chance for the local businesses and philanthropists to create a legacy for the future of Chorley. Their support and endorsement of the project will serve to encourage others to invest in the future of the town’s young people. For more information about how to get involved please contact: Janine Blythe on 01204 362128 or email CE.InspireYZ@onsideyouthzones.org.
