23 teams from leading North West businesses took to the beautiful Shaw Hill course, raising £9,500 for young people at Inspire Youth Zone’s inaugural Golf Day.

Friday 23rd June 2017 marked the first fundraising event for ‘Inspire’ – Chorley’s new Youth Zone. Set to open in Spring 2018, ‘ Inspire’ will be a purpose-built facility for the borough’s young people aged 8 – 19, and up to 25 for those with disabilities, open 7 days per week for just 50p per visit.

After a fantastic days’ golfing, teams gathered at the clubhouse eagerly awaiting to hear results from the day. Readyplant, captained by Andy Ruttle, were awarded 1st place with 92 points, followed closely by Woodland Clay Company with 86 points, captained by Adam Haworth.

Janine Blythe, Chief Executive at Inspire Youth Zone said “We were delighted to raise nearly £10,000 at our first Charity Golf Day in aid of Chorley Youth Zone. The success of this event has inspired us to host this event again in 2018!

“As a charity we rely on the generous support of the local business community. Every penny raised will allow us to provide thousands of young people from Chorley and the surrounding areas with somewhere to go, something to do, and someone to talk to 7 days per week!”
