Working with small groups, our Volunteer Gaming and Coding Youth Workers help us to deliver sessions that teach young people computer skills. They support young people to learn more about the world of coding, whilst also enjoying some gaming fun. These sessions build young people’s confidence, social skills and overall wellbeing. Our Volunteer Mentors meet with the same young person each week, building a relationship with them based on trust. Meeting with them once a week for an hour at a time, they listen to them without judging, help them to achieve their goals and support them to realise their potential. For this mentoring role, we’re specifically looking for people who are keen to work with young people who need some direction when it comes to education and/or employability. Our Volunteer Youth Workers are at the forefront of our sessions that run every day. They help to create a fun, safe, supportive environment where they engage with young people in a variety of different ways; meeting young people as they enter, showing new members around, supporting them and encouraging them to take part, think playing pool, hosting FIFA tournaments or just having a chat with a young person. In doing so, you will help to build their confidence, social skills and overall wellbeing. Download the full profile here – Engagement and Activities Volunteer Youth Worker
